Attended my 50th class reunion last week. There’s an old saying that "you can’t go back". Well our group defied those odds and for two days of events, we did "go back" and revisit the relationships formed in 1976. It was a great time. Yes, we all have changed in body but remarkably remain the same in the way we "remember" each other. I now hold fond new memories of reliving all the older ones.

Time is elusive and constant. In reality, it’s all we got in this world. How much time we have is a haunting unknown. A wise man once said: "Time will cause no commotion to remind you of its swiftness, but glide on quietly. It will not lengthen itself for a king’s command or a person’s favor." Yes, the movement of time is "quiet" and "swift". Therefore don’t waste a single second. Don’t miss the blessed opportunities that each second holds. For those seconds turn to minutes that turn to hours that turn to years.

Speaking of time, let me suggest using your time building fond memories is wise. Creating moments with the ones you love that you can recall and enjoy later is divine. Class reunions are alot about "things we did" as opposed to "things we are doing". The "catching up" part of last weekend did involve conversations regarding what our classmates were "doing" but more about what we "had done". "Had done" together. Those reflections fill your heart. Be intentional about creating "what you’ve done" memories with those who are important in your life. They will bring joy into your life later, yes maybe even 50 years later.
