I’m looking for help in raising money to get my son a service dog and I was referred by a friend whose family received help from your group, Christine Dodson. My son, Blair, is 24 and a survivor of a car accident in 2003 that left him with a severe brain injury. The impacts on his life have been huge, but as it says in Job 5:9 He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed and miracles that cannot be counted. Blair improved beyond what all the Medical’s predicted by Grace and hard work. Until Covid. When the world shut down and he had to stay home 24/7 he developed anxiety, fear, and depression. Loneliness is one of the largest parts of brain injury survival. When he finally got back to his routine he had a lot of trouble adjusting and the doctors charged his medicine to help him cope. The medicine poisoned his poor brain and caused him to hallucinate. He has been in and out of the hospital 3 times since Valentine’s Day trying to get his meds regulated and his heart rate back to normal.
As a result, I’m working to get him a service dog. Animals provide love and support, can do deep pressure for anxiety and tremors, and reduce Blair’s heart rate and stress. In order to get the dog I need to raise $18000 to pay for the 2 year training, and care. I also need to build a fence so the dog can have free run.
If you are unable to assist could you point me in another direction where I can seek aid?
I would like to donate but that seems hard to do. I don’t use PayPal and just want to give you the information for my debit card. Or can I just send a check to the address above?
