Devotional 10/30/2022

Read a great reminder last week. You are not poor as long as you have something to give another person.  If you have two coats and someone needs a coat, then you are not poor.  Your wealth ( of having an extra coat ) can be a blessing to another.  It has also been a blessing for you in answering God’s call to serve and help others. By that definition, in this world where we are obsessed with keeping score, few of us fit the “poor” category.

We all are witnessing the frailty of worldly wealth with the current conditions of the financial markets.  Many are dealing with savings and retirement funds evaporating like rain on hot pavement.  The value we place on financial status can be here today and gone tomorrow. We have witnessed the supply chain clog that presents the reality of the scarcity of goods regardless of the size of your bank account.

If you have two coats or two pairs of shoes in your closet, one of them belongs to someone less fortunate than yourself.  Celebrate your wealth by blessing others. It’s not about how much or how little you got, to Jesus it’s about what you do with what you got.
