Had a great day this past Tuesday.  Teed it up early afternoon with a friend at Carolina Country Club.  The weather was great, the course well tended and the conversation was even better. My friend is a very engaging, super nice fellow.  We had a wonderful visit and a relaxing time together.

Even though I care deeply about my friend, this was actually the first time we had spent time together.  You see, he was a friend of my son Joseph.  They had connected through politics and Joseph’s job in DC.  Joseph held high admiration for this man and talked with me often about their friendship. My love for my new friend was conveyed through the relationship he had with my son.

It’s important that we cross-connect with people.  It’s easy to love and trust those who love and engage with the people you love.  There’s an indirect association that spills over from the relationships held by those we care for.  My friend and I had something very special and precious in common …. our love for my son.

It’s essential that we invest richly in our friendships. That evening I reflected on my friend. The day’s gathering and accompanying conversation had been a celebration of Joseph’s life.  It’s a good thing to share your friends with others.  Love is THE divine connector.  Thank you my son for leaving me with Lennie !!!!
