From Charlie Gray
Celebrated my 33rd wedding anniversary a few days back. Couldn’t help but to reflect on the lyrics of a Fleetwood Mac song in which Christine McVie sings: "Sweet wonderful you, you make me happy with the things you do. Oh, can this be so, this feeling follows me wherever I go". My life is better because of my wife being in it. Over the years she has told me things I needed to hear and shown me things I needed to see. She has been and continues to be a true life partner.
Jesus talked alot about choosing a mate. He talks about how a man shall leave his mother and father and become one flesh with his wife. I think we’ve done well in that since we had to combine a Tarheel and a Blue Devil. We have seen the best and the worst together. She has remained by my side on the tallest mountaintops and in the deepest of dungeons. Manifestation of Proverbs 3:13 declaring a wife more precious than jewels and being way beyond any other desire.
A young man once asked an older, wiser man how he would know if he was in love with his girlfriend. The wise man suggested that the young fellow ask himself a question. When you are not with her, do you want to be? The young man flashed a huge smile and offered a wink of his eye. He understood completely. After 33 years, I think I do as well.
