From Charlie Gray
Words for today are "connective tissue". In a worldly reference, connective tissue defines a group of tissues that support, protect and bind together organs in our body. Examples are bone, cartilage and even blood. No doubt connective tissue is certainly important and necessary in that regard.
Allow me to expand and suggest that our faith is the connective tissue among Followers of Jesus. Scripture emphasizes that we each connect both with God and other people. Jesus taught that through this connection we can help each other in living our best life. It is my testimony how my life is divinely blessed and enriched by the relationships I have with others with Jesus as the "connective" denominator.
There is no better day than Easter to celebrate the foundation of our connectedness. On this day, Jesus personified the HOPE He has promised. We are indeed connected as "Resurrection People". We know that death, as we know it in this world, has been overcome and defeated. We know that a life eternal and a reunion with the lost ones we love is forthcoming. Jesus proved such on this day. Easter was a day of reckoning.
The result of this faith based connective tissue solidifies that we are in fact "one body in Christ". Don’t attempt or believe you can travel your journey in this life alone. Let the children hunt eggs and enjoy wearing your new Easter outfit but deeply rejoice in the gift we were given on this day. Connect with others and celebrate in and with the commonality of your faith. That will be in fact your best life. Happy Easter !!!!
