From Charlie Gray
Allow me to invite you to consider your most precious possession. We all have things we hold dear. Yours probably include children, family and friends. As you ponder that question, let me suggest that our most prized possession is our “life”. All other things we hold dear fall into and are combined within our lives. As followers of Jesus, we embrace the reality of our creation. Our lives are of utmost importance to God because we are His creation, made in His image.
We have all sung the song: “Red, yellow, black and white, we ALL are precious in His sight”. In His creation, God has instilled within our lives a purpose. He knows each of us by name. Scripture declares He knows every hair on our head. Jesus made it clear there are expectations laid upon us regarding what we do with our lives. In that lies a huge responsibility to live our lives to the fullest of His glory.
I believe that realizing our own special and specific value in this world is sometimes overlooked by folks. It is important that each of us have that revelation in order to make it in this world. Once you embrace the value of your life, regardless of your circumstances, move on to embracing the value of the lives of others. So much of our turmoil and so many of our problems would evaporate if we appropriated a higher degree of value on the lives of ourselves and others.
