From Charlie Gray

My word for today is “invasive”. This word typically carries rather negative tones synonymous with infringement, intrusion and breach. Well, I’m not headed in a negative direction here. Have you ever considered the “invasiveness” nature of love? Let me suggest that when you truly care for someone, there will come a time when you might find yourself, or even be accused of, “tending to their business”. Yes, you may invade their life.

True and authentic friendship requires a deep dive into the lives of those you care about. The power of love in relationships uncovers secrets. When you care about another person, the traditional walls of privacy are melted away. The curtain is drawn. In that process, the discoveries found strengthen the bond.

I share with my closest friends very private thoughts and feelings knowing that the confidentiality of our conversations is ensured. I think we all need those types of relationships in our lives. The main ingredient is trust. It’s a divine process to truly trust another person unconditionally.

The 5th verse of the 17th chapter of Jeremiah warns about trusting in man. The directive here is more about trusting in God rather than in man. With that said, it is my testimony that God leads us to those we can trust. He leads us to those we can allow to invade our lives. When this is apparent, do as Paul McCartney sings in his song: “Somebody’s knocking at the door, Someone’s ringing the bell …….. Do you a favor, open the door and Let Em In”.
